Get started with hezzian — from zero to monitored in five minutes.
hezzian watches every position you hold — the news, the price action, the fundamentals — and tells you when the story you bought into starts to change. This guide walks you through it end to end: connect a portfolio, write down your thesis, tune what gets watched, and learn to read the signals before they show up in your P&L.
Connect your portfolio
hezzian starts with what you already own. Import your holdings once and every position becomes something the engine watches around the clock. You can paste a list of tickers, upload a broker export, or connect a read-only feed — nothing about your account is ever exposed, and hezzian never has permission to trade.

Tell hezzian your thesis
A holding without a thesis is just a ticker. Tell hezzian, in plain language, why you own each position and what would have to be true for it to keep working. This is the contract the engine measures reality against — the clearer the thesis, the sharper every signal that follows.
You don't need a template. Write a sentence or a paragraph. hezzian extracts the watchable claims — growth rates, margins, catalysts, the competitive moat — and turns each one into something it can track over time.

Anchor your thesis to something measurable — a number, a margin, a catalyst with a date.
Tune what it watches
Out of the box, hezzian watches the obvious things: price, volume, headline news, earnings, and guidance changes. Tuning is where you make it yours — raise the bar on what counts as material, mute the sources you don't trust, and tell it which claims deserve a same-day alert versus a quiet line in the weekly digest.

Begin with defaults, live with a week of signals, then turn the dials where the noise actually was.
Read the signals
A signal is hezzian telling you something moved against — or for — one of your theses. Each one is graded, sourced, and tied back to the exact claim it affects, so you're never staring at a headline wondering whether it matters to you. Green confirms, amber strains, red breaks.

No black boxes; hezzian shows its work.
Decide
hezzian doesn't trade for you and never will. What it does is collapse the distance between “something changed” and “here's what it means for your thesis” — so the decision is yours, made early, with the evidence already assembled. Add, trim, hold, or exit; hezzian just makes sure you're never the last to know.
Connect → thesis → tune → signals → decide. From here it runs in the background and surfaces only what crosses your bar. Most days, that's silence — which is exactly the point.
